1937 Riley Kestral, 1 1/2lt. Registration number FPC 962. Chassis number 27K6499. Engine number not found. Sold with no paperwork, although the car is on SORN and a 2010 tax disc was found in the car. Produced from 1936 until 1938 when Nuffield took over the company, the Riley 1½-litre, is a range of cars that were available with saloon, touring, and sports/racing coachwork, The car is powered by a four-cylinder 1,496 cc with one or two Zenith carburettors. It was advanced for its day with twin camshafts mounted high in the engine block, cross flow head on some versions, and Zenith or twin SU carburettors. The chassis had half-elliptic leaf springs all round and drive was to the rear wheels through either a four-speed preselector or manual gearbox. Girling rod brakes were fitted. At launch three body styles were available: the Kestrel 4 light fastback saloon, the Falcon saloon and the Lynx open tourer. In 1936 the Kestrel became a six light, the Falcon was replaced by the Adelphi six light saloon and the Continental touring saloon was introduced. Between 375 and 400 27K models were produced. FPC is an older restoration that has been stored since 2010 in a dry garage with other vehicles from this deceased estate.

1997 Renault Sport Spider, 1998cc. Registration number P25 OPO. VIN number VMKAF0H0516077070. Engine number C000540. Sold with the V5C, Failed MOT certificate, copy of the MOt history from 2006, large history/service folder and keys. Unveiled in prototype guise at the 1995 Geneva Motor Show before entering production later that same year the notably aerodynamic and lightweight newcomer made extensive use of aluminium and is powered by a mid-mounted 150hp 2.0-litre 16-valve engine from the delicious Clio Williams and, with just 920kg of car to haul around, its performance was suitably lively - 0 to 60mph in 6.5 seconds, and an eventual, and very windy, top speed of 131mph. It has a five-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels, an industrial-strength, extruded aluminium chassis, a composite body with scissor doors and double wishbones all round. This car was subject to a Pistonheads review; https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-carpool/ph-carpool-renault-sport-spider/23627. OPO is one of only 200 RHD examples produced, and was bought by our vendor for his private collection in 2017 at auction and has been dry stored ever since. A fresh battery has been fitted and it fired up straight away. There are 10 stamps in the service book, the cambelt was changed in 2016. The history folder includes the original purchase receipt, old service receipts, MOT's and other related paperwork. The current mileage is 31,380. The MOT failure lists one windscreen washer jet blocked, carbon monoxide level too high, this is due to small holes in the smaller of the two silencer boxes, lambda reading, see previous, nearside rear lower suspension arm corroded (the one on the offside has already been replaced). Advisories all four tyres are close to legal limits, steer has slight free play at steering wheel.

Athelhampton Hall, a brass/steel GWR steam locomotive nameplate, (B.R. Number 6971), 194cm. This engine was built at Swindon in 1947, one of only 71 Hawksworth Modified Halls, compared to the 259 Hall class locomotives. It was allocated to Bristol (Bath Road) and Birmingham (Tyseley), withdrawn from service in 1964, being scrapped the following year by Cashmores (Great Bridge). The nameplate is unusual in that it is 9" longer than the normal plates due to the number of letters in Athelhampton, it therefore has an extended back plate to accommodate all of the letters. Very few "Hall" nameplates were as long as this one. The Hall itself which is in private ownership is 5 miles east of Dorchester (Dorset) and is open most days to the public. Provenance; After the locomotive was scrapped both nameplates were bought by Robert Cooke, the owner of Athelhampton Hall in Dorset. In 2019 his grandson, Patrick Cooke, who had inherited the Hall in 1992, retired and sold the contents through Dukes of Dorchester. This plate was lot 493 in the auction in October 2019. Please note the position of the mounting holes on the splash plate of both lots 493 and 494 in that auction.
