Introduced in 1974 the Golf GTi has always been at the top or near to the top of the Hot Hatch market. The Mark 2 followed in 1983 and the Mark 3 in 1991. In 1997 the Mark 4 arrived, there was no Mk4-derived Cabriolet, although the Mark 3 Cabriolet received a facelift in late 1999 that consisted of bumpers, grill and headlights similar to those of the Mark 4 models.
First owned by G. Houghton and bought from Whitehouse of Bexley, RXA has eight stamps in the book up 557298 in 2015. It had the water pump replaced at 67,298 miles in 2016 when it was bought by Ellis Stead. There is MOT history up to 2020 at 100,885 when it was put into storage. Mileage today is 100924. It has recently been MOT'd in February 2023 and is ready for use.
