Cribb, 146 Southampton Row, London, height 32cm.*Biography William Cribb was a well-known chronometer maker first recorded as working in Coventry as a pupil to the influential watchmaker Thomas Hewitt before moving to 17 & 30, Southampton Row, Russell Square, London from 1816 until 1822, then 58, Theobalds Road and finally 146 Southampton Row until his death in 1876 having been a maker to the Admiralty.
