Shipping Policy

The following information is for guidance. We don't know what you are buying so we can't be accurate until the lot is bought and an address registered.

If your bid relies on postage/shipping, then please read the below and get in touch with us if you have any queries. Please read the important information and auction information prior to bidding, postage queries can be dealt with in advance using the 'condition report request process' available on all platforms prior to bidding. Please be aware that not all items may be suitable or legal to post, we will help and respond promptly to all queries. The lot may have shipping restrictions meaning we cannot legally or safely post some items and are buyer or courier collection only.

PLEASE READ THE INFO ON POSTAGE IF YOUR BID RELIES ON THIS SERVICE - WE WILL NOT SHIP ANY WEAPONS OR ACCESSORIES. OFFERING ONLY WRAP AND PACK THERE IS A FEE, SEE BELOW. YOU BOOK YOUR OWN COURIER WITH THE DIMENSIONS WE SEND YOU.

Please also note that postal department is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and UK Bank holidays, all enquiries are dealt with during our working day. Monday to Friday 9-5.

Our wrap and pack service is available for items that exceed standard postage weight or size limits. However, this does not mean we can package every item. If you are considering using this service as a condition of your purchase or bid, please contact us before buying to confirm availability — we're happy to help. This service allows you to arrange your own courier for collection and choose the delivery service that best suits your needs. Please note that it is entirely your responsibility to select the appropriate level of insurance and coverage. We do not accept liability for any items sent using this service.

Guidance on Postage and Couriers

General Auctions:-

Select 'request shipping quote' from your invoice.

Spicer's use Royal Mail Special Delivery for all shipments. This service ensures your items arrive securely and quickly, with full tracking, next-day delivery, and insurance. While it is a premium service, we believe it offers the reliability and peace of mind our customers deserve. We book your items online and print out address labels which we have to pay for, and a member of our staff physically takes the items to the post office charging Spicers mileage and fuel cost's. We do sometimes pay royal mail to collect the items instead but this can add an extra day onto the delivery of your items.

In addition to carrier fees, there are other important costs involved in preparing your order for dispatch:

Staff Time: Each order is individually processed by a team member who physically checks the invoice to assess the number of items, their weight, and dimensions and adds the appropriate postage cost to your invoice. This ensures we package your order as efficiently and securely as possible, but it does take time and attention.
Packaging Materials: We use materials to protect your items in transit, these materials are not free. This includes Jiffy bags, sturdy boxes, padding, and secure wrapping, all of which contribute to the overall cost.

While we strive to keep our prices competitive, our focus is on ensuring your order arrives safely and promptly. We don’t add a profit margin to postage—our goal is simply to cover the true cost of delivering your order with care and paying the 3 part time staff members which we employ specifically for the post and packaging service.

Communication is key. Keep your details up to date. We always communicate by email in the first instance, check your spam, your security might block our messages. Late or non-responses will result in a block on your account. Let's keep the wheels turning and avoid unnecessary delays.

If you can't pay within 3 days and arrange your shipping within 5 days of the auction ending, please don't bid or contact us in advance at least and receive an email acknowledgement to confirm payment and shipping notification.

For Cars, Motorcycles and Automobilia:-
ALL LOTS ARE HELD IN GOOLE - Spicer's cannot offer postage and packing for any lots in Car and Motorcycles auctions. Same applies to automobilia unless the items will fit in a small padded envelope, meet the small parcel conditions of Royal Mail or where items are approved for pack, measure, weigh, appoint your own courier charged service by Spicer's General Manager.

Collect or appoint transport within 3 working days of the auction closing or discuss storage our storage charges within 48 hours of transaction completion, we have limited storage, extended storage incurs costs.
