A George I silver mounted tortoiseshell box, unmarked, with a "stand-away" hinge, the cover inset with an armorial crest plaque, inscribed Willm Howard, 1724, 10.5 x 8 x 3cm.
The oval condition is good for its age, the tortoiseshell needs a clean and feeding, the front panel is very slightly lifting on the lower right hand side, the underside frame has worn in places abut it is still a tight fit, hinge is good and not repaired, original fixing pins
