Sold with the V5C, one lady owner, V5, original purchase invoice, recently recommissioned.
The Capri Mk III was introduced in March 1978, and sold very well initially. The new styling cues, most notably the black "Aeroflow" grille and the "sawtooth" rear lamp lenses echoed the new design language being introduced at that time by Ford across the entire range. In addition, the Mk III featured improved aerodynamics, leading to improved performance and economy over the Mk II. The trademark quad headlamps were introduced, while the bonnet's leading edge was pulled down over the top of the headlamps, making the appearance more aggressive.
XCM, in Graphite Grey with blue interior, was purchased new by its one and only owner Margaret Willis of Liverpool from Wadham Stringer for £3,832.16 on the 5th December 1980 with no part exchange. It remained her only car and comes with a large history folder. There are MOT's on file from 1992 until 2000 confirming its mileage of 68,357, it under went new wheel arches in 1998, chassis, sills, floor and front strut repairs in 1999 and more in 2000.
In 2002 it was put into a garage and remained there until recently when it has been recommissioned; new timing belt and tensioners, brakes overhauled including master cylinder, front callipers, brake pipes, engine serviced with oil and filter, and a new battery.
It is now ready for the next custodian to take it to the next level.
