Audi debuted the second-generation TT, internal designation Type 8J, on 6 April 2006, using the Volkswagen Group A5 (PQ35) platform with aluminium front body panels, and steel in the rear, to enhance its near-neutral front-to-rear weight distribution. Available in front-wheel drive or 'quattro' four-wheel drive layout, the TT was offered as a 2+2 Coupé, and as a two-seater Roadster. The second generation was five inches longer and three inches wider than its predecessor.
The powertrain options included 1.8 and 2.0 litre petrol engines, as well as a diesel. The 3.2-litre 'V6' badged VR6 engine was carried over from the previous generation. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, with the six-speed Direct-Shift Gearbox (DSG) as an option for all engines. Quattro on-demand four-wheel drive, again using the Haldex Traction clutch is available – standard on V6 models.
HCY was first registered in March 2008, then owned by Terence Norton of Runcorn from April 2009 until our deceased vendor purchased it from Audi Grimsby in May 2011for £19,995 with a mileage of 18,725 miles. MOT's on file take the mileage up to 24,748 in 2012, 31,042 in 2013, 36,625 in 2014 and 41,442 in 2015, also the time of its last service. It was then SORNed until delivered to our saleroom where Spicers have had it valeted and MOTed (it needed two wiper blades and a front suspension coil).
Sold with the V5C, MOT from 25th August 2021, past MOT's, service receipts, and instruction books.
Although the car has just passed its MOT, Spicers would recommend that any prospective purchaser has a full service undertaken due it being off the road for 6 years.
